About me!
Who i am!
Hi! I’m Torro, I'm 16 years old, born in London. I moved to Poland at 12 years old and even though I speak polish I prefer to communicate in English. I'm a teenager navigating life with Gilbert’s Syndrome, and I created this space to raise awareness, share resources, and connect with others going through similar experiences. I love music, reading clinical studies, and exploring lesser-known medical ideas — like the fascinating role of the microbiome in health. You might also spot my dog in some of my videos — they’re my trusty companion through all the ups and downs!
My Journey with Gilbert’s Syndrome
I first struggled with severe, unexplained symptoms at 12 years old. After hospital visits and a gastroscopy under anesthesia, doctors found only a mild stomach inflammation and sent me home with medication. They mentioned that I most likely had Gilbert’s Syndrome, as my bilirubin levels were high.
The experience was tough. After anesthesia, I felt terrible and lost a lot of weight. I spent countless days in doctors’ offices hoping for answers, but as a teenage girl, my concerns were often dismissed. Even after fixing my stomach inflammation, i felt terrible and thats when it hit me that GS could be causing me symptoms.
Why I Started This
The turning point came during one of my worst flare-ups. I felt completely alone, yet I knew other teens must be going through the same struggles. When I started sharing my story on my channel, I found multiple people telling me they were experiencing similar challenges. That’s when I realized I wanted to help others feel less alone and get the resources they need.
My mission
My main goal is to increase understanding of Gilbert’s Syndrome and raise awareness, so it’s recognized and taken seriously — even as a chronic illness for those who experience ongoing symptoms. I want to ensure people know that Gilbert’s Syndrome can cause real symptoms and that their experiences are valid.
What I Offer
I currently create short videos and hope to expand into longer videos and written content here on the website. My content focuses on tips, symptom management strategies, and supplement information.
In the future, I aim to build a supportive community, especially for teens, where people can connect, share experiences, and support one another while navigating life with Gilbert’s Syndrome.
Besides making content, I enjoy music, reading medical research, and exploring unconventional health theories. And of course, my dog sometimes joins me on camera — they keep me company and bring some fun to my videos!
